The Short Version

ClayCalc does not require an account or ask for your name or email. Calculation inputs are processed on our server and are not written to the application database. Essential security cookies are used. If advertising or analytics is enabled, this policy explains the additional third-party processing below.

Overview

ClayCalc ("the Service") is operated as a free, public ceramic engineering calculator platform. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. By using ClayCalc you agree to the terms described here.

This policy applies to all pages at claycalc.com.

Data We Collect

We do not require registration or login. We do not ask for your name, email address, postal address, or any other personally identifying information.

Like most websites, our server and hosting providers may automatically receive technical request data such as IP address, browser type, referring URL, requested page and timestamp. This data is used for site delivery, security, rate limiting and troubleshooting. Retention is governed by the operational settings of our hosting and security providers.

Calculation Data

When you submit a calculation form, the values you enter (e.g. clay dimensions, weights, temperatures) are sent to our server to compute a result. These values are used only to produce the calculation and are not stored in any database, logged, or associated with your IP address.

The application does not create a saved calculation history or user profile. Server and security systems may still process the request itself, so you should not enter personal or confidential information into calculator fields.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

ClayCalc includes Google AdSense site-verification metadata and may enable Google advertising after approval. When ad code is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure advertising, subject to the consent choices available in your region.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings at g.co/adsettings or by using the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Google's processing is governed by its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). ClayCalc receives reporting made available to publishers but does not receive a copy of your Google account or full cross-site browsing history.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics or a privacy-respecting alternative to understand aggregate usage patterns — which calculators are used most, which pages receive traffic, and whether the site is performing correctly. If Google Analytics is used, data is collected in an anonymised form and governed by Google's privacy policy.

We do not use analytics to track individual users across sessions or devices.

Cookies

ClayCalc uses a session cookie and an XSRF/CSRF cookie to protect calculation form submissions and maintain request security. These cookies are not used to build an advertising profile.

If Google AdSense or analytics is enabled, those services may set additional cookies as described above. Non-essential cookies should be controlled through the consent options displayed for your region and your browser settings.

Third-Party Services

ClayCalc uses device-native text fonts and local system glyphs for interface icons. The normal site interface does not request font files from Google or another font CDN.

External reference and social links open third-party sites under their own policies. Advertising or analytics scripts are covered by the sections above if and when enabled.

Your Rights

Because ClayCalc does not store personally identifiable information, there is no personal data profile to access, correct, or delete. If you are in the EU or UK, your GDPR/UK GDPR rights (access, erasure, portability) apply to any data held by third-party processors such as Google, not to ClayCalc directly.

If you believe we have received personal data in error, contact us and we will investigate promptly.

Contact

If you have questions about this policy or believe data was received in error, use the correction/contact link on the About page. Do not include sensitive information in a public message.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
