Ceramic Testing Calculators for Absorption & Glaze Fit

A calculator becomes useful when the specimen preparation is repeatable. Dry weight, saturated weight, firing cone and clay batch should travel together in your notes; without them, a percentage is hard to compare later.

Water absorption is a direct measurement. Glaze-fit prediction is a model and needs physical follow-up such as test tiles, boiling or thermal cycling appropriate to the intended ware.
